On May 13, 1969, a controller at Reus Air Base observed an unusual phenomenon. While tracking the takeoff of a Boeing 727, he noticed a bright, stationary point near the plane's contrail. Five other people, including the backup controller and several soldiers, also saw it. Using binoculars, the observer noted the object had a circular shape with yellowish patches. The phenomenon disappeared momentarily and reappeared lower and to the left before vanishing completely.
The investigation highlighted some inconsistencies. Although a large size was mentioned, the testimony described it as a "bright point." Additionally, the description of the plane's contrail did not match a typical condensation trail, suggesting it might have been the jet engine exhaust. Despite the lack of conclusive data, it was considered that it could be a reflection visible from a specific direction. Finally, it was concluded that there were no reasons to keep the document classified.
