🇪🇸 Ejército del Aire
In March 1979, the radar of the Alert and Control Wing detected an unusual aerial phenomenon moving at an extraordinary speed. The trace appeared suddenly at 840 knots, without identification, and disappeared before it could be intercepted. Shortly after, a second trace was recorded, initially showing no movement, leading to speculation it might be a ship. However, when a fighter jet approached, the object activated, accelerated to 730 knots, and reached an altitude above 80,000 feet before vanishing.
The report, later declassified in 1995, includes no visual images or direct eyewitness accounts, but it does contain radar records and unusual movement patterns. The document was reviewed and deemed not sensitive enough to remain classified. Although no definitive conclusions are provided, the case remains an example of a UFO sighting with solid technical data, albeit incomplete, raising questions about the nature of what was observed.
