Strange light sighting in a private flight

Summary

In December 1979, a private Cessna 3100 flying from Barcelona to Zaragoza reported an unusual aerial phenomenon. During the dark, moonless night, the pilots observed a very bright white light that appeared stationary and slightly above their altitude. The light fluctuated in intensity, moved erratically, and was not detected by the aircraft's radar. After several attempts to contact air traffic control, the pilots were assured there was no traffic in the area. Despite maneuvering closer to the object, they could not detect it with instruments and eventually landed without further incident.

The case was documented by the Spanish Air Force and declassified in 1995. The pilots noted curious details, such as the inability to maintain clear communication with air traffic control and a coincidental report of a similar sighting by a TAE aircraft. Although no conventional explanations were found, the report did not classify the event as a UFO, but considered it worthy of record.
