Summary

In May 1979, a driver in the French region of Jura observed a reddish luminous object with spiral-like "antennas." The phenomenon caught her attention due to its unusual movement and brightness. According to her testimony, the object moved toward the southwest and disappeared quickly. Gendarmes investigated the case and initially ruled out the moon, as a verification the following day showed it was not in the same position. However, a more detailed analysis confirmed that the moon was indeed in the direction reported by the witness. The sudden disappearance of the object was explained by the movement of the driver's own vehicle. Additionally, the presence of clouds may have caused reflections or optical effects that contributed to the perception of the phenomenon. Although the verification the next day was inconclusive, the moon was no longer in the same position, making it easily identifiable.
