One night in September 1989, an insomniac in Les Tuiles, near Bertre (Tarn), noticed an intense light above his house. Approaching, he saw a spinning-top-shaped luminous object hovering over a nearby field. The phenomenon vanished without noise or smell. The next morning, he found his roof tiles burned and displaced—twisted clockwise, as a contractor confirmed—causing a leak.
The investigation found no conventional explanation. The affected tiles suggested thermal or magnetic influence, yet there were no traces of combustion or apparent natural cause. With tangible physical evidence and a coherent testimony, the case remains unresolved.
