At 1:30 a.m. on 31 July 2000, several witnesses in Saint-Giers (Gironde) watched a luminous ball that gradually faded out. The event was brief and produced no physical effects, but descriptions were consistent among those present. Investigators concluded it was most likely an atmospheric entry of a natural or artificial object. The case showed no signs of an unexplained phenomenon.
