Vehicle interior reflection mistaken for a luminous phenomenon near Puy de Dôme

On 1 January 2008, a driver photographed the Puy de Dôme from their car using a mobile phone. A month later, reviewing the images, they noticed an unexplained luminous phenomenon and sent the photos to GEIPAN. Experts concluded it was a reflection from an interior vehicle light such as the dome lamp — a classic example of how reflections from nearby objects can produce anomalies mistakenly interpreted as unexplained phenomena.
